Cookie Monster
Is this wise? I have a set of 205 CR500's which I want to put on a spare sets of rims which are 6x13 inch - the web says it's fine but what's the BC view pls? They'll only be a spare wet set but it strikes me that they may be wider than ideal or at worse could be dangerous? oldbutnotslow
Well you can put them on but they will be compromised. The 205 CR500 actually has a tread width of 230mm so they are over width for a 6" rimAssuming that you have cycle wings a 205 section on the front will foul on the wing stays. They will also raise the ride heights by 13.5mm as the overall diameter is 27mm more than the 175.Avon specify 7 1/2" or 8" rims for this tyre. By putting them on a 6" rim you pinch the tyres which afects the contact patchAll in all not a good idea.
Cookie Monster
Thx OBNSThey'll actually be on the rear so wing stays not a problem
OliverSedlacek
I run 205/60s on 6" rims, but Yoko 048s. The front wing stays needed a little 'adjustment' for clearance, but I've been pleased with them.
