What will the difference be in profile if I change to ZZS 195x50 R15 from CR500 195x45 R15 . If they are taller side walls they may not fit under the cycle wings !.

I understand from the sizes stated that the overall diameter would increase by 9.75mm, so the new tyres would need at least an additional of 5mm clearance under the wing stay.

The diameter goes from 557mm to 576mm so and increase overall of 19mm meaning you need an extra 10mm under the wing / wing stay.

I fitted these to my CSR and had to do a bit of fettling to get around 10mm clearance at the front and back of the wing (no problem with the stays).

I think you can still get CR500 though (should you want them) as this debate was running last year ..... a hurried call to CC, after Dunsfold day, confirmed these were still available so I now have a spare set ..... I would not be able to fit the ZZS with out modifications to the cycle wings as the CR500s are a tight fit as it is so problem solved ...... for a bit !!

Hi. A couple of months ago I changed from 195x45x15R to 195X55X15.  I used  http://www.willtheyfit.com/  and the new tyres fitted fine.

Thanks for the advice chap's ,  I am happy with the CR500's I've had no issues . When I have to change the cycle wings are going to be a problem !.

Yoko AD08R 195 50 15 - Excellent and just 58.70 ish from Dave Kimberly at Demon Tweeks.

I was about to put 13" on the hire car last year instead of the CR500 15" and the Yoko's completely changed my mind.

I changed from Avon CR500 195 -45-15 to Toyo T1R 195-45-15. The tread is quite a different shape.... so next time I will probably go for 195-50-15 as they are considerably cheaper than the 45s. Don't seem to be as wide across the sidewalls as the CR500 ..... they were really close to the upright part of the stays.
