O/T tintop electric windows issue

RS2000

Recommended Posts

Skoda Roomster - In the drivers door there are switches for both drivers side and passenger side electric windows.

The drivers side window works as normal.

However when I try to open the passenger side window using the switch in the drivers door, you can hear a slight clicking noise from the passenger side but nothing happens.

But the passenger side window will operate as expected using the passenger side switch.

I could understand the issue if it didn't work at all, or if there was no clicking noise from the passenger side...Strange! - anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Does anyone know if these are point to point wired or if there is a control or relay unit? Or have a wiring diagram?

In the absence of that I'd expose the switch in the driver's door and run a good temporary feed into the wire to the passenger's door's window. That should test whether the problem is in the switch. If that doesn't work I'd run a good temporary feed into the terminal on the passenger's door switch that receives the feed from the driver's door.
