Piers Rendell
I am looking for information on Torque settings for a Rover K Series R300 2004 for the following: 1) Exhaust Stud torque setting - one came out with the nut attached. I have now seperated the stud and nut and the stud needs to be put back in. 2) Exhaust nut torque when I reassemble the exhast system. Do I need a new gasket, as I read somewhere that it was steel and could be re-used. 3) Torque settings for fitting the Alternator mounting bracket - it has a three bolts fixing. Plus the bolts that secure the alternator to the bracket and adjustment bracket. They were all very tight when undone. 4) Can you get a workshop manual for 2004 cars with this information ? Thank you Piers

Piers Rendell
Thanks Oilky - All done but engine not started yet, as ran out of time. What a fiddly job it is to replace the alternator mounting bracket. I had to take all the exhaust off to get at it and getting to the bolts/nuts with the torque wrench is not the easiest thing to do - but I got there in the end. This is my "first hands" on on the K Series engine, having had a Super Sprint for 25 years. This K engine is much more difficult to "get at". What is the best way to tighten the alternator belt, as there was little movement once the belt is on. Does it need to be that tight, as it is only driving the alternator. Thanks again Piers
