Banner Battery - Vent Pipe

Hello

My car is fitted with a Banner battery and each side has a small plastic plug on it a little below the rim. I seem to have lost the plastic plug on one side so when I drive the car, I lose water from it. It looks like it serves some function so I don't want to fill it completely.

Does anyone know if it can be plugged up (with glue / sealant etc) or do I need to replace the plug?

Thanks

It should have a 90 degree elbow with a vent pipe attached to vent the battery.

It`s not water, it`s diluted sulfuric acid....suggest you clean the entire area asap.  Fit windscreen washer type tube in hole and let it vent below car

Clean it with lots of water and maybe bicarbonate to neutralise the acid.

There doesn't need to be a 90 degree fitting but it and the pipe can be got from Bsnner.  A small, poss 3mm bore poly tube should just push in and then be fed through to drain under the car. It's a breather or vent pipe and should normally just have hydrogen passing through it as the battery gasses during charging. If anything.

IIRC, on my car it comes out through one of the big holes in the battery bracket  then straight down.

It could well be overcharging or overfilled if it is leaking acid from the vent

They don`t normally spill, is the battery fluid level too high...should be just above the level marker in each cell

The vent pipe and the plug are missing on one side so there is literally a small hole where the fluid is escaping.

Just had a look and there seems to be a white plug on one side and nothing on the other. There would be no room for a vent pipe with the covers screwed down fully so not sure what the correct set up for this battery should be?
