You have probably seen information regarding the partnership between the Motorsport UK and Dare to be Different to give opportunities to Girls & Women to participate in motorsport. The minimum age to start competing in speed events is 16, however there are many opportunities to join in a take part in motorsport. In order to promote opportunities within our own championship , entry fees to the championship and our Curborough events are discounted for novices who are current members of the dare to be different campaign.

Simple Guide to Class Structure

Classes 1 to 4 are within the Road-Going Specialist Production Car Category. Classes 5,6 & 7 are within the Modified Specialist Production Car Category

Class 1

This class is designed for any standard Lotus 7, and falls within the Motorsport UK rules for Road Car - Specialist Production

  • Engine size upto 1600cc, 
  • Gearbox : 4 or 5 Speed
  • Engine Type : Any single Cam,Rover K, Sigma, Crossflow, Suzuki 660cc
  • Tyres : Motorsport UK List 1A Radial
  • Power : Upto 130 BHP
  • Driver Aids : None
  • FHR : Optional
  • Windscreen : Standard or Aero
  • ROPS : MSA Rollbar + Petty Strut or Full Cage
  • Documents : V5, MOT, Road Tax, Road Insurance

Typical Standard Models : Seven 160, Classic, Academy, Roadsport 125, Tracksport 125

Class 2

The class is designed for standard Lotus 7,and falls within the Motorsport UK rules for Road Car - Specialist Production.

  • Tyres Motorsport UK List 1A Radial
  • Power : Upto 155BHP​

Class 3

The class is designed for any standard Lotus 7, and falls within the Motorsport UK rules for Road Car Specialist Production.

In order to promote competition we recommend that this is only used as an entry level class for the first year for those competitors who can not comit to Class 5 or Class 6.

Class 5

The class is designed for any Lotus 7, and falls within the Motorsport UK rules for Modified Specialist Production Cars

Class 6
