Fun roads around Winchester and Petersfield

My usual route to Goodwood from Southampton goes;

Bishops Waltham, B3035 up over Corehampton Down to Corehamapton, A32 to West Meon, A272 to Petersfield.

A short sections of the A3, and A272, and a couple of hundred yards on the old A3, now the B2070. Right on the B2199, and left at the end of the road on the B2146 to South Harting.

Right by the White Hart  and a short section of the B2146. Once through the village, left uphill on the B2141 and up over Harting Down. At the end of this section turn left on to the A286 through West Dean. Turn Right at Singleton uphill past the Weald & Downland museum and Goodwood racecourse, and downhill to Goodwood motor circuit.

From Goodwood I generally go back along the road a couple of hundred yards to the first roundabout, turn right and make my way to the A285 to Petworth. Then its A272 to Midhurst, Petersfeild, and a reverse of the top line.

Best done early, before the traffic builds up, especially on the A272.

Hope this helps,

Col
