Carcoon - Car Storage - MemBen

Carcoon, the makers of the premium car bubble vehicle storage systems, have agreed to extend to Club members an exclusive discount.

I know several members use Carcoon bubbles to protect their vehicles and are very happy with the system.

To get your Club discount, please see the relevant eentry in the Members' benefits section here:-

This has just been set up, so if there are any problems, please do let me know immediately at:-

Interesting Alan  Thumb Up

I have had a look at the website, the EVO seems to be most suitable but not sure which size is best for a Caterham SV?  There seems to be two versions, EVO and Coded and the only difference seems to be that the EVO is transparent.  I also tried to find out more about the Power and Charge System but the link doesn't work when I click on it?  It seems that a 12 volt power supply is required?  I normally leave my Caterham on a Banner trickle  charger over winter, so I assume that this still possible inside the Carcoon?

I will email Carcoon for more info' but it may be handy if Carcoon could supply more details to post on this thread?

For information, here are a couple of previous threads with some good photos in the first thread

Man up Derek, don't ask us ... ask her yerself, and risk cooking your own Christmas dinner and cold feet all winter.  If you banish her to a tent she will probably lock you up in a Morgan and throw away the keys Biglaugh

Excellent timing Alan.  I damaged the bubble badly and need a replacement.

#2, David.

Yes, I know what you mean, David. I am sorry about that.  I did my best.

I'm sorry to say that, whilst they did agree to give us a discount, they weren't particularly helpful over it, despite them getting the opportunity to reach another 4,000 potential customers.

Perhaps others here who already use their product, Stu and Stephen, could provide us with more information on the options and use.

Incidentally, as an option, don't forget that we also get a discount on a good quality range of demunidifiers.

Not to mention the discount we get from three suppliers of car covers (oh!  I just did mention them, didn't I?).

Alan

I have contacted Carcoon for more information and received a reply from "Joyce" who requested my telephone number, which I supplied but I have not heard from Joyce.  Meantime I have watched their video and decided that the indoor Veloce model Extra Small measuring 400x200x170(high) would be the size for a CSR, priced at £516 + pp £29.99 = £545.99.  The next problem is that there is no field at checkout to enter a discount code so I have emailed Joyce for advice and will keep you updated, if I receive a reply.

I already have a cover but when I removed it from the car this year there was considerable white mold on the steering wheel.  During the winter I also get drips of condensation from a clear plastic roof light panel in the garage roof and another summer problem is spiders ... they not only drop portions of dead flies / wings etc onto the car they also crap on the car in the form of small white spider dung!  We have a new kitten nicknamed Rambo that seems to have a passion for killing spiders, we wake up to dead ones on the carpet every morning so maybe I should lock him in the garage overnight.

The Carcoon would solve these problems but I will take a look at the dehumidifiers.
