Following a rebuild of my 1985 xflow, a task that could have only been completed with the invaluable help of Ian, Wrightpayne of this Parish, Andrew Ward who brought all the electrics upto date, and Christ Mintoft of Redline the car had it's first ever MOT today.... she passed with flying colours.  First impressions of my first live axle car...carbs are a work in progress, and the live axle, is erm...lively.

Wow!

Hope it goes well.

Have you already discussed the emissions requirements with the tester?

And how about greasing the prop shaft joints while it's up there?

JK , It went well, all passed, after a very vigorous check, he wasn't interested in emissions at all due to the age of the car, and it was originally kit built. Re the prop UJs, the car doesn't have an open tunnel, so there's no access to the prop, during the rebuild the prop was removed and there are no grease nipples on the UJs, they feel Ok, bearing in mind the car to date has only completed a grand total of 1936 miles.

Happy days!

The number plate on the tintop looks to have been purchased ready for the next project

A thing of beauty.

...you will get used to the predictably unpredictable live axle handling

Beautifully done, very authentic, even down to the wing stay and tax disc.
