Informal, although always in good quality accommodation, you have the reassurance of support from other seven owners and enthusiasts. Over the last 5 months Dave Rothwell, the Clubs Tour Organiser and myself have been working together to create the tour calendar for 2019. Last year saw us increase the numbers of tours on offer and this next year we have expanded the calendar to five to include Portugal, Ireland and France. We can only do this with your enthusiasm for touring so thank you for creating some wonderful memories in 2018.In this months Low Flying you will find an insert produced with our tour partners Scenic and Continental Cars and over the next week on BlatChat – Blats and Tours section - you will find details of each event including prices, booking arrangements etc. However here is a brief over view of what’s on offer: Portugal Gathering 10th- 13th May 2019: We are staying in a Hotel overlooking the Douro valley with four days of activities including Port tasting, Blats, and Cruising on the River organised with one of our local members Andre. Dave will be posting full details including suggested ferry crossings and hotels and roads en-route to this lovely venue making it a longer tour through the Picos Mountains. Circuit Historique de Laon 7th– 10th June 2019: Our second visit to Laon. On Saturday there will be a rally with a light lunch provided, then on Sunday morning, participation in the ‘closed street run’. The route extends over 6 kms and includes a hill climb with hairpin bends as you make your way to the old town centre. The tour includes ferry crossings, hotel accommodation with breakfast, Friday Car Display En-Route to Laon, Entry to the Saturday Rally including light-lunch, Participation in Sunday 'Closed Street Parade', Optional Participation in Monday Morning Run. Portmeirion 23rd– 25th June 2019: Its June so must be time for Portmeirion and our 3 days of pampering in this unique venue. The accommodation is in the village itself where there is plenty to entertain you and this year a drive through Snowdonia to the GP Karting circuit with the bonus of taking your own car on the circuit!. Accommodation is in the village, breakfast and dinner are included. Southern Ireland 11th– 16th July 2019: This tour takes us to Waterford, Killarney and the Ring of Kerry and the opportunity to experience the warmth of Irish Hospitality and some wonderful iconic roads. The tour includes ferry crossings 1 night in Waterford in each direction, 3 nights in, Killarney,5 full Irish breakfasts & 3 dinnersAnd lastly Angouleme and the Circuit des Remparts 12th -17th September 2019. We visit the annual historic car race in the walled town of Angouleme. The International Circuit des Remparts route in the city is unchanged since its first edition in 1939 although modern safety equipment has replaced the hay bales and wooden fences, but otherwise the circuit remains untouched. Tour includes return ferry crossings, 1 night in Le Mans - outbound , 1 night in Orleans on the return. 3 nights in Angoulême with Buffet breakfast each morning & some meals and Grandstand tickets & Paddock Passes for Sunday racing.
