I did a similar thing in that I put the wrong car reg in using the ringgo app. My wife’s car and my car are saved and I just clicked on the wrong car. I wrote to them saying I had actually paid but was sorry and it was an honest mistake including photos of both cars together and a screenshot of both cars in the app.  They did cancel the fine, so it’s worth writing and explain an honest mistake was made.

You would think that, based on the fact they can identify actual registrations without a payment they could also identify keyed registrations without an ANPR scanned registration - might save them a bit of time in wasted admin just eyeballing the two lots of exceptions.

Good result and sensible outcome.

Thornhill Park and Ride used to have a system where you partially identified your car by entering the letters on the plate and then picked it from the returned photos. Now replaced by full entry of the plate with no checking!

PS: Just working on patient identification for point of core testing for YKW. Some overlap.

IIRC, there was a club member whose daughter bought a parking ticket and entered the reg no. "P155 OFF".  I don't think it had a happy ending.

There is a local sevener with the reg P50FFE - he has recounted a "discussion" with plod regarding the abusive meaning of his plate, which is his name Thumbup
