Interesting. I hope they get back to it soon. I don't really see why inspections can't be carried out, it shouldn't be hard to stay away from others whilst looking over a car. There are lots of professions that should just get back to work ASAP now!

Garages are back at work and doing MoTs. I'm sure IVAs are more thorough, but I can't see why the risk would be any higher.

Agree it's not rocket science to see how test centres could be offering an almost full service. But then Garages have profit and job security to consider, public employees don't. I rang Crawley yesterday; there is about 6 of us in the same situation. Apparantly 3 have cancelled IVA's and are likely to get 1st dibs, others need an appointment but DVSA have dropped their intention to restart testing yesterday and are not committing to dates.

How frustrating. I have checked with Oakmere and my car is finished, but Caterham don't have any dates for the IVA yet.

George the good news for you is the factory has a higher priority over kit builders (i.e cars stuck at Crawley).

My IVA was due the 20th April, I've sort of prepared myself that I might not get the car on the road this year.

I've also heard that the DVLA has a large backlog.

Fingers crossed though we maybe able to get some driving time this year

I was just thinking the same thing.  My test was booked for the 1st April.  I won't drive my car on salted roads, having owned a car that was.  So if my retest comes when the salt is spread, I will use a covered trailer to get my car to the test.  This introduces another problem, where to bed the brakes in, and I need to get that done before the salt covers the roads.

This was why I planned my build for an April IVA :-(

I was at Caterham Gatwick yesterday and one person will be happy. A new kit was being loaded on to a van for delivery

It will be such a shame if we miss this summer. I'm increasingly tempted to torch the trusty Volvo so I can claim the 7 is necessary for hospital work and be category 1 for the IVAs!

Oakmere have called and said IVA booked for 5th July. If it passes, apparently the DVLA take around 3 weeks to register. Good luck to all those waiting, hope you get in soon.
