Have they changed the rule in France where they had restricted people from the UK unless it's for essential travel and requiring a 10 day quarantine? We were planning to drive through France to Italy (who now require a quarantine too).
Just tell them you are on a G7 jolly or part of the UEFA elite and you will get a free pass.
I'll check that with the developers, Stewart.
Did you see my previous comment about printing a hard copy?
"Having just downloaded the NHS app and viewing my vaccination record, I see that the 2D barcode expires on 23rd July 2021. Anyone know why this is?"
And had a reply:
"The rules around the status are evolving, so each barcode and status document expires at a set time. A new one can be created as needed at a later date."
I'll follow this up if anyone thinks that it hasn't worked.
Thanks Jonathan, I had seen your post re printing a copy and will do. It was my wife who pointed out the expiry date to me. She is hoping to travel in September, so we"ll have to wait and see.
Does this mean that the validity of the document expires on 23 July?
if so it would be sensible to have a warning message to prevent people like me who prefer to be organised well in advance from accessing it too early....
Bloody typical, we were planning a long break in Italy but had thought the French restrictions had scuppered that. Now that has been lifted but the Italians have introduced a quarantine instead.
Re #29: Good question, Roger. I think the solution is to download afresh after the expiry date.
PS: Why does formatting go to pot when I post from an Android phone?
