Saw it a while back. Quite an insight to the American intelligence community.

Watched Telstar: The Joe Meek Story last night. Not a comfortable film to watch but a very unusual style, and the post-film captions* on the subsequent careers of the real-life participants were amazing. Jonathan * Is there a word for these? Edited by - Jonathan Kay on 17 Aug 2013 19:13:09

I saw the stage version-the performance by Con O'Neil((who I think was in the film too) was the single best of theatre I have ever seen(and I have seen a lot !) . Unexpected- wet wednesday matinee in Darlington but the descent of Meek into paranoia and madness was so convincing it was genuninely disturbing. Very funny in parts too

Good Shepherd wasn't to my taste but I understand why some liked it: My review of The Good Shepherd at the time

Yeah, I just used it as a project to learn how to make web sites. When I started writing reviews I found I quite liked it so I kept going. Then after 600 I got bored and stopped

:-) I'm enjoying them, thanks. Watched "Babel" a couple of days ago. Wonderful direction and the nonlinearity and underexplanation worked well. Great performances by Adriana Barraza and all of those playing the Moroccan parts. Reminded me of everything that's wrong with many Hollywood films, and especially the problem of resolution and happy endings. Jonathan

Went to see "Blue Jasmine" last night: brilliant acting by the entire cast and the closest thing to literature you can get on a screen. Highly recommended. Mark Kermode's review Jonathan
