There used to be a tradition up here of high octane Christmas ales Jennings "Cocklewarmer" was a favourite but appears to have been discontinued. Only strong ale I saw on the shelves yesterday was J W Lees Moonraker which is only 6.5% but good value at £1.90 a bottle. Not much activity at the pumps I think they were glad to see me!
Hi manstein ,,,were is the photo taken ,,,looks familiar
It's Alston Derek just over the hill from me. It's a combined Spar fuel and small supermarket which is very handy but seems to have killed off a few shops in a very small community.
Had to collect my beer (and wine - in boot and footwell) - no delivery service for me!
You need a harness round the beer just incase
I live a five-minute walk (and due to the road layout only a marginally quicker drive) away from the Brewery - so no need, Derek.
Don't leave anything to chance Col with such a delicate load ,
BigCol did you ever hear anything more about the Fullers jug or should I take it down to Sothebys in anticipation?
Sorry... I didn't reply, did I?
No one I asked recognised it - the thought was that it might've been a limited anniversary edition for the free trade; certainly not something the staff would've had.
Like anything, if you find the right buyer, could be valuable.
Just seen the title of this - thought you were a Jess Moskaluke fan . . :)
