I see Boris has been admitted to hospital. Which is a bit of a shock. Longy

That's a bit of a worry.

I have always thought him to be a complete to$$er but have to say, and I never thought I would ever even think this, he has been the right person for the job at present

I think he has ,surprized a lot of people ,with his handling of the situation ,,,,,and think his cred has gone up ,,what was the alternative for the ones that did not like him ,,,?  Corbyn and abbot ,,,,,would have been a bloody disaster

hope Boris comes out ok

Really? My word.

I doubt he will have been sent to ExCel (ExHell when I was sent to work there)

Friend (now recovered) when in throes of fever shouted “DON’T LET THEM TAKE ME TO THE EXCEL! I’VE BEEN TO SO MANY SHIT TRADE SHOWS THERE IT CANNOT BE THE LAST THING I SEE”

I don't get why people think he's doing a great job? NHS was on its knees before this started, we knew it was coming in January (or maybe earlier) but didn't order  the PPE or ventilators (still big shortages of both, in fact the number of ventilators they claim to have today is less than what they said they had at the beginning), original approach was to allow it to spread a bit of 'herd immunity and if some old people die then that's OK', until quite suddenly they realise that's not working and we go into a quite confused lockdown with many 'rules' open to all sorts of interpretation.  No, sorry, but I really can't think of anything I'd be praising him for. And we all know it is Cummings behind it all and not Boris anyway!

Just my humble opinion of course :)

The hospital admission does make sense, if government policy and statements are to believed.

A "precautionary step" contravenes the government invective to stay put. Medical advice is to stay at home and away from GPs and hospitals unless seriously unwell & struggling to breath.

I tend to avoid Chitchat on the grounds of Godwin's law.  All I can say is that I'm bloody glad I'm not in Boris's shoes and I'm very glad that he is in them and not Blair or Brown or Corbyn or Starmer or some other joker - we'd all be frantically writing wills...

All in my humble opinion it goes without saying ...
