Apologies for putting another "sticky" at the top of your ChitChat - I'll only keep them sticky for a week or so (unless I hear otherwise!).
As Social Video lead for the club, one of the tasks I've set myself is to create a "promotional video" for the club.
I would like to create a 1 - 2 minute video montage of some of the things we get up to and to have it available on YouTube. The montage will be of very short clips of video, "smashed" together as they call it, possibly with a voice-over and probably with some background music (I know some of you don't like the music but it's much easier to turn the music off when you're watching than to add it later for those that do like it :-) ). Each clip that's added to the montage needs to be only 1 or 2 seconds long (possibly much shorter in the final edit) and of something that catches your eye in that time. Examples would be: car sweeping round a bend, drone shot pulling away from car, people enjoying themselves at an event, putting your race gear on at a circuit, taking the jump at Cadwell, a visit to a dealer or tuner, maintaining your car, view over the car into some scenery (beach, mountains, lakes), etc etc. But it has to work even as a really short clip.
As you'll be able to work out, taking 1 or 2 second clips and creating a 1 to 2 minute video will require at least 100 clips!
Therefore, I'd like to ask any club members who have something they think would be useful for this project, and who would like to get involved, to contact me. Use this thread, DM or email [email protected] and we can have a chat.
If there's lots of suggestions I suspect I won't be able to use everyone's footage, but I'm hoping to perhaps make a few of these videos, some of which will be themed, and so hopefully everyone can be included eventually.
If you're looking for some inspiration on what we're looking at doing then the link below was recently posted by the Aston Martin Owners Club (please watch before getting back to me). Often these things are done as "passion projects" (by a member) and I also suspect that Aston Martin may have provided footage as well as using member footage.
(I'm sure everyone has a view about what works and what doesn't in that video but it very much does the job of telling you what the AMOC is about).
Some of the technical stuff:
- Videos need to be at least 1080p (1920x1080) and at 25fps, or better
- Audio is not important, as it probably won't be used
- Sunny days are preferable, though some rain, snow etc shots might work well
- Please be prepared to provide me with either the short clip itself or the exact, by the second, timing in a YouTube video - I won't have time to look through hundreds of hours of videos to find the exact clip you're thinking of
- I'll set up a DropBox link for people to upload their short clips to
