The government get it right (at last). If you are going to act over Covid-19, do it quickly and decisively.

So I am right behind them over the decision on people coming from Spain being required to isolate, if that is what the data demands. Whether people actually will (which I doubt), is another matter.

But expect a change within a couple of days to exclude those flying directly from the Canary Islands.

The Sun - IT'S A PAN-DEMIC -Sewage will be tested for coronavirus to identify which areas need to be locked down

Note: This is a good thing, I am surprised it had not happened already.

There is a difference between academic studies at a limited number of locations and widespread testing paid for by the Government at all sites. That looks to be the new aspect of this, a good thing.

“Honestly I couldn’t care less whether it’s world-beating or not, I just want it to be virus-beating. And it’s not.”
Professor John Edumnds, epidemiologist and member of SAGE says the NHS test and trace system is clunky and it takes time to get the data.

Another part of the jigsaw.

The Government gave £225m of taxpayers’ money to a £100 company, owned by a friend of Minister Liz Truss, for PPE that cannot be used...

.....in a secret procurement process.

The Jo Maugham twitter feed on the unusable PPE procured by Andrew Mills' company is certainly worth a read. I'm completely un surprised. Dishonest corrupt shower. Who'd a thought.
