The car is from 1984, so I suspect that in use the single connecting bar must have been found to be problematic, at least the Nearns corrected it. Now where can I get the additional bits?
JV, I've just found the install details in a 1988 build manual, over at FB, but sincere thanks for the offer.
Eccles, may have saved some weight, but they squandered the savings putting in a steel fuel tank.....
No problem - glad you've found another source. Looking at the pic, I can't imagine it was ever intended to operate with just the one bar. I guess you could get a machine shop to make you an identical one? Or talk to Chris at Redline.
Isn’t it missing something. Surely it would have an identical connection on the left of the gear-lever. If not, you are right about Heath Robinson.
I don't know Piers, first time I've had a 4 speed, anyone else know?
Don’t know if that’s original but as far as I know he does still work there. In fact he does time at all the small manufacturers
Works there! He designed it
Mine had a bar on each side.
Does save a bit of weight though!!
2007 S3 Sigma 150
Mine had a bar on each side.
My copy of the 1992 Assembly Guide shows this:
PM me your email address if you'd like a copy of the AG.

Mine had a bar on each side. Maybe Heath Robinson, but a surprisingly snappy change.
I think it was an attempt to avoid the reach that earlier cars had.
