Steve, you can get a second earth plate/spike fitted somewhere else if access via paving etc is difficult.

It's notifiable works so you'll need a qualified sparks who can self-certifiy it Thumb Up

Thanks Ian, worth bearing in mind.

I've spoken with a certified Electrician and he's coming on Saturday afternoon to do some tests.

Cheers

I hear marigolds are very good. If you prefer au naturel then Bodyshop hemp hand cream  is good after completion of domestic duties and has a nice manly smell!

When we moved house in 2002 SWMBO insisted on having a dish washer - I wasnt keen. I wouldn't be without one now!

Earth rod discussion is interesting. I've seen a fair few but didnt realise they could be problematic.

In my day , the quick fix , just before the sparky arrived, was to nip out and pee on the earth spike ;-)

Don't know about dogs, sure it must have happened, but during a party in a friends barn one of the young ladies present , who was  shall we say, in drink , was leaning against an electric fence while complaining she felt "very Strange"

Hi Steve forgot to say ,just to throw a spanner in the works ,,,don't no how old or how big your house is but if it’s a few years old you may need the trip changing it will say on it 30 ma or 100 ma it should be 30 ,, also if you have one trip to control the full system , he will advise new board needs fitting , two options cheapest split board two trips ,,or rccbo trips more expensive but much better as only one circuit trips if fault ,,he will then have to test out house ,, this is poss half to full day depending size of house and agency , if he’s coming sat morn have a nice drink Friday night
