For 'Derbyshire' or 'Peak District', read 'anywhere'

Derbyshire Constabulary

What a lovely day! The perfect day to drive up into the Peak District for a walk, bike ride, climb or horse ride, isn’t it?
No, actually it isn’t.

We’re seeing a lot of confusion over whether people are allowed to travel to the Peaks to undertake daily exercise while the government are asking us to stay at home. While we have this fantastic space in our county, right now is not the time to be using it.

Daily exercise should be taken locally to your home. Under government guidance all travel is limited to essential travel only. This is to help ensure that our emergency services aren’t put under even more pressure during this time.

Should you trip, fall or have a road traffic accident while you are travelling to, or are out in the Peaks, then this will add additional pressure to an already stretched service.

The safety and wellbeing of you, the residents of our beautiful county, is our priority and these measures are being put in place to ensure that you are kept safe.

If you need advice on how to look after your wellbeing at home during this time visit https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection#looking-after-your-wellbeing-while-staying-at-home.

Guy: like the Tory government, it had a lot of superfluous dodgy characters. A "Night of the Long Knives" has fixed it.

... then the NHS would not be on its knees...

It's even worse than that. Public health expenditure in real terms has been cut back, unlike the NHS it wasn't treated as as an exception during "Austerity". And the measures that have a massive long-term effect on individual health have been enormously neglected: food policy, alcohol policy, drug policy, transport policy, local air pollution...

wow Tony you certainly seem to be in a minority a bit like the last election.

Can you imagine a scenario where the NHS ever has enough money, not a chance. Perhaps if we all decide that we have to double NI contributions, Pensioners should pay NI and prescription charges ( I think we should )  dump NON health work, etc Cant see that happening

But a class remark that Diane Abbot could contribute anything and especially with her mate Corbyn...

Correction, Alan, I was in the majority that didn't vote for the Prime Liar in the last election and as I said I'm no fan of Corbyn - he would have been the lesser of two evils.

Another reply to #20 Whatever their multiple shortcomings "if we had had a government led by Corbyn, Abbott and co" for the last 10 years then the NHS would not be on its knees " Well they would have needed a crystal ball to have enough doctors, nurses and equipment on standby to cope with this pandemic. And the country would be broke, again.

Not really researched this but could you sign up for the NHS support and ask to deliver drugs to people who can't get out. I think you can choose what you can do.

If you signed up you could deliver them in the 7.

Think a video is around with Tiff doing blood runs in a 7.

Just an idle thought !
