I think the Queen has done an extraordinary job of carrying the Brand UK with great dignity and despite the odd hiccup has always driven a very strong global respect for the UK.  Thank you Mam.

Despite the costitutional or protocoI constraints I found it quite assuring that Bo Jo had to try to behave himself infront of her during the final part of the Brexit situation. I like to dream in my heart that the private converstaion between them was very frank and harsh from HRH.

The joker that is lined up to take over, in my opinion will never hold the the same presence, respect and "Majesty" as Liz.

So yes I would support a significant change in the monarchy after Liz,  however I do not see the advantage of an elected president.

No, but I'd favor a much reduced, focussed monarchy, which they seem to be heading towards.  Ditching public funding those  with a relatively tenuous link to the monarch, eg the extended family, and focusing on heir and subsequents.  Its become too much of celebrity soap opera, you could drop the latest plot into Eastenders, with some cockney accents and doors slamming.

Abbot, you've probably summed up perfectly many people's thoughts on the matter.

;-) The French do a lot wrong but they do an awful lot right too....I love the way that when the govt tries to impose something on them they don't like they take to the streets, in Britain the response is some forthright tutting and a cup of tea

Well here is my five penerth  for what it’s worth ,,,I think the monarchy is great , the Queen has done a great job holding everything together ,and think a lot of other countries would love what we have ,,,,but next in line Charles ,he has a few poss daft ideas but think he will be good king ,Think he has also done a good job ,,,then we come to Andrew who to me is a bloody disgrace to me him his weirdo ex wife and the two ugly duckling are just money grabbers ,good riddance to them ,, William and Harry , I used to think both were great ,, as far as William and his missis are concerned think they are great ,and if he becomes king no problem ,,,as for Harry used to like him but since he shacked up with markle I’ve lost all faith in him ,,Think she has changed him don’t like her one bit ,,how they can be half royal ,I don’t no as for being financially independent Bull shit they. will just use the name of Harry and his fammilly which is tottally wrong ,,, tel him to piss of to America’s with her , and fend for themselves

derek

think that is blunt and to the point ,

Blunt and to the point, but probably a fairly common and reasonable view point.
