Hi Fellow 7ers,
I hope you’ve all seen the articles in Lowflying publicising this forthcoming joint event in memory of Graham Nearn, and to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Caterham 21.
Quickly outlining the program for the weekend, your AR will be planning blat routes for the drive to the British Motor Museum (Gaydon) on the Saturday morning, with the objective of arriving around 12:30; at the muster points for your blat (and at Gaydon) you’ll receive a commemorative car sticker for a £5 donation to the Club charity Race against Dementia. The Museum is a fascinating place, tracing the history of British Motoring from its inception through to the present day, with exhibits of interest to all. There’ll be a photo shoot in the museum carpark, and at 14:30 Jez Coates will give a presentation on the development of various evolutions of the 7 and unique Caterham 21. Discounted tickets for the Museum can be purchased here, remember sales close on 20th Sept.
For those who wish to stay on and make a weekend of it, we have arranged accommodation at the Fire Service College Moreton in Marsh. Leaving Gaydon at around 17:00 we’ll converge on the college for a mass photo shoot in the grounds. Following dinner, we’ll adjourn to the bar to meet up with friends old and new and chat over the exploits of the day. There’ll be blat routes as you wend your way home on the Sunday morning, and for those who want to spend more time enjoying the delights of the Cotswolds there’s an opportunity to stay over on Sunday night. Book your accommodation here, remember to use your membership log-in when booking.
Finally, for those not staying at the Fire Service College you don't have to miss out on the fun, you can join us for the Saturday Evening Party and / or for Breakfast prior to the Sunday morning blats by booking meals only here https://www.lotus7.club/event-gnmb-fire-college-meals-only
Hope to see you all at this fun event in September
