Death penalty is harsh and hard to justify but perhaps corporal punishment would be as effective. The prospect of it would certainly serve as a deterrent. In KSA they have public corporal/capital punishment  (in what is very aptly known as Chop Square) which certainly serves as a deterrent.

Death penalty is hard I agree and only should be carried out if it Proven beyond doubt ,that it was murder , harsh yes but as I  say the law to me is to soft ,,,more bothered about the poor attacker that the victim ,,

I think the reason the murder charge didn't stick was it couldn't be proved that the driver & accomplices were aware that th PC was being dragged along behind their vehicle (even though they were swerving from side to side to shake the poor man off). Whatever, a terrible tragedy.

To many kids today male and female re brought up to think the rules don't apply to them when reprimanded at school often the parents don't back up the teacher but complain instead.

These scum were from a section of society that don't and will never respect the law, or human decency. Enough said, very sad.

Fight fire with Fire comes to mind

good old Yorkshire saying ,,,

do unto others as they would do unto you ,,BUT DO IT FIRST ,

if the driver would have been charged with murder found guilty , death penalty carried out it may have gone some way in swiping the smug faces in court , if it did not then at least one more piece of scum of the streets

Sorry to wind you up Derek but my understanding is that there are legal requirements to prove the intention to commit murder.  The scrotes clearly caused the death of the poor officer caught up in this incident.  Again my understanding is that for it o be murder the scrotes had to go into the situation with the intent to kill the officer.  What is difficult in a court case is that I would expect they did not go into the situation to kill, however at some point in the incident did they really understand that they were dragging the officer along and therefore should have done something to release him, other than zig zagging to throw him off.  So I would expect it to be very difficult to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the actions that the scrotes took was withe the intention of causing the death of the officer.  It is  a very sad and unfortunate case but  the law cannot be a decision by popular opinion.

I would hope that the response of the scrotes on leaving court would be used at every parole review and that they stay locked up for the full term

#9 you are not winding me up at all,, nice to get an honest reply ,,,must admit I may be a bit controversial at times ,, but put it how I think and believe ,,,if others don't agree no problem we all have our own thoughts and ideas ,,,thing is I no I'm always right ,, it's just me  ,it's a bastard being right all the time ,,,,you ask  Kay she's pissed  of with my thoughts

the way my crazy mind works is ,,,they were out stealing a quad bike poss of a farmer who req for his work ,,,so they were breaking the law ,,no defense ,the police were involved and one poor soul lost his life ,,,,if they would not have been breaking the law thieving ,,,then the policeman would still be alive ,, so to me murder

it's the law which is to soft ,,all the bloody goody goodys about ,,,love to no there thoughts if it was one of there family
