L2B run cancelled 2020
Unsurprisingly .... It is with deep regret that the Royal Automobile Club has been forced to cancel the 2020 RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (Sunday 1 November). Given that the Run has taken place without interruption since 1947, this decision has not been taken lightly. We have been working tirelessly with the local authorities along the route to plan a Run which would be safe for the participants, staff and spectators. However, respecting the Government’s efforts to control the current rise in COVID-19 infections, this is no longer possible. All participants and supporters are now looking forward to celebrating the 125th Anniversary in style next year on 7 November 2021. We would like to thank the Veteran Car Run Steering Group, partners and participants for their encouragement, commitment and support - and wish everyone a safe year ahead. No, not really a surprise but there ought to be a way of managing it successfully because as an open air event and a dispersed audience virtually all the event presents a very small risk.

So the start & finish areas are the issue. If the Tour de France & Giro have solutions, sure this much smaller event could have one as well.

I guess like most of us during the first lockdown, it doesn't seem right having fun in our cars when others are making sacrifices.
