Hi Ian    Have been thinking of getting another MGB ,,has have been thinking of poss selling seven in a year or so maybe ,

been looking on int and the prices for the really good ones are going up ,, last one I had was a MGC soft top they’re now fetching a fortune. Prefer soft top to GT.  But had a few of each over time  there’re  great cars

I would rather have an Spitfire than a Spridget as it has more room inside, and i would choose an Sunbeam Alpine or TR4 over an MGB all day long.

Way back, my wife (GF then) bought herself a 1965 Midget with the 1098cc engine.  Huge fun.  Performance would be considered pretty pedestrian by today's standards but back then it was considered quite lively (especially when small tin-tops like the Anglia would struggle to reach 60 in under 30 secs).  Bodywork was remarkably good.  The main problems were the front lever-style dampers and the forward mounting plates for the cart springs.

"Blimey" and "agreed", respectively.

There is a big difference in price now between a good MGB and a triumph ,  a mate years ago used to have a sunbeam tiger think it was a V8 ?

A lump,Of  a motor but from what remember not that fast

you couldn’t beat an anglia , lowered ,  wide wheels and a tuned 1600;engine dropped in just a pig to stop

Yes, the factory Tigers had two different Ford V8 engines.

I have a merc Vito van with 180;bhp sport engine ,, it will outrun most of the old style sports cars , no some one who had one chipped for £600 took it to 210 bhp went like sss of a shovel

I had two Midgets in my " youth " and original 1275 A series and a later rubber bumper version . My wife and I toured Europe in one when we first married .Amazing to think we got everything in .We were camping and from memory the boot was no bigger than a Caterham .

I also hankered after an Arkley and looked at a couple for sale but they both looked tatty ..
