One of our men is down. The ultra-positive Herts Lotus Seven man Mike Stride ('Stridey' on Blatchat) is, at the moment, going through a big bad patch with his on-going fight against cancer and is at present at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London.
All of us of course wish him well but he’s finding life a bit boring (in the past he held the fastest motorised skateboard World record – so it will be…).
I’m appealing to anyone who knows Mike to give him a bit of time either by visiting him on Facebook or at his bedside. East ‘B’ Wing, Floor 5. Bed 9 (double check). He’s got enough books (inc John Aston’s) & games. A bit of life-chat is all he needs.
Correction from Stridey....!
“I wasn’t fastest motorised skateboarder, but I was World Amateur Tight Slalom Champion 2003, and got a Blue Peter Badge for teaching Helen Skelton how to race downhill!”
Cheers, Dikko, Herts Area.
