One rule for Dom......

"Who cares about good looks? It's a question of doing the right thing. It's not about what you guys think." - Dominic Cummings' quoted response (on BBC News site) to reporters questioning his 260 mile trip to his parents' house near Durham.

In the same report, 'Downing Street' was quoted as saying: "Owing to his wife being infected with suspected coronavirus and the high likelihood that he would himself become unwell, it was essential for Dominic Cummings to ensure his young child could be properly cared for."

In all likelihood 'Downing Street' was Dom himself.

Reportedly the architect of 'Herd Immunity', quoted (in the Sunday Times) "if that means some pensioners die, too bad".  What Dom says goes - for anyone else, of course....

Mr Johnson reminded families not to turn to vulnerable relatives to look after children as the elderly and people with underlying health conditions were urged to distance themselves from others.

He told today's press conference: "Children should not be left with older grandparents or older relatives who may be particularly vulnerable." (March 18)

So:-

Stay at Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives.

Don't send kids to grandparents.

Self-isolate if symptomatic.

How is it that a man of Mr Cummings supposed intelligence managed to disobey ALL these instructions from his boss?

The Police are understandably worried because they are in the middle trying to enforce the rules and regs, but policing is by consent and in the face of such hypocrisy a large number of the British public have just withdrawn their consent.

My theory is that , as hinted above , when a 'lessons learned ' enquiry is held it might  reveal that DC  googled a bit about herd immunity , ignored the usual context that , these days , it applies primarily to the protection afforded by the vaccinated majority to the unvaccinated minority and convinced cabinet it was the way to go because Dom's like , some kind of geeky genius who just  , y'know , works stuff out ;like  we mere mortals cannot .

Until somebody in the cabinet who wasn't as thick as mince - so not Ms Patel, obvs-  , pointed out that for herd  immunity to work where there is no vaccine , the price paid was a lot of ..err ... expendable people . AKA the voting base for the Tory party. Ooops .

Journalists are obsessed with Dominic Cummings as they hate him - he's rude about them, doesn't give them any respect and to top it all helped win the Brexit referendum.  My guess is that most of the country doesn't care (and would probably have done the same thing given the circumstances), but end up having to put up with days of wall to wall Cummings coverage that they don't want.

Midlife crisis begun....

Very clever of the reporters to tell only half of the story, then to follow up with more info after the initial responses.

Much of the country DOES care, which is why we are putting up with these restrictions and supporting the NHS by staying home.

This ponce DC doesn't care much about anything except his own bubble.

Ignore the Brexit referendum spending limits, fail to attend a Commons Select Committee, ignore your boss's stipulations re Covid 19 (which you probably drafted anyway).

Pull the rug from under Covid 19 policing by consent. Fail to apologise or show any contrition (unlike the two scientific advisors).

DC's departure is imminent and LONG OVERDUE.
