Many of you will know of Richard Usher from his time as owner of Blyton circuit. Earlier this year he masterminded the opening of "The Great British Car Journey", based just north of Belper in Derbyshire.
GBCJ (the acronym does save a lot of typing)- is dedicated to history of the more typical, day to day motoring which we may recall from our youth. For some lucky members a visit will be a dive into ancient history :)
The Club has secured a 'closed visit' starting at 0900 on Saturday September 25th 2021 at the discounted rate of £13.00 per head to include entrance to the museum and breakfast hot drink and roll. The site has plenty of parking and indeed Richard and his team love to see mass gatherings of single marques, so there will be room for us to line up. The museum opens to the public at 0930 - so we will be able to enjoy some dedicated time reminiscing over those cars our parents drove, and no doubt frequently swore at.
The plan is to then invite members to tour the delights of the Peak District following either a couple of pre-worked routes, or alternatively to make up your own route with some local highlights and refreshments picked out along the way - more details to follow. The GBCJ team has also offered to keep the on site cafe open for any members wishing to return, before heading home. Should any members travelling from further afield wish to stay over, I will be happy to recommend possible accommodation in the region.

All we need is a bit of an "Indian summer" to help with the weather.
I look forward to seeing you there. Any questions please email to "[email protected]"
