Not sure if it's been flagged previously on here and I'd like to think we are all savvy when it comes to this sort of thing but might be worth passing on the friends and family less so.
Youngest son, who doesn't own a car received a test today supposedly from DVLA informing him he was due a vehicle tax refund with a link to a web address which started "gov.uk" but then continued with a dash and other text which included dvla.
He realised it was a scam so blocked the number but sent me a screen shot. As I work for a government department I know any official uk government web address will be followed by "/" after gov.uk. I reported it to DVLA as there is nothing on their part of gov.uk to warn people of these scams. The guy said they are fully aware of this scam and inform the public of such stuff by social media - I suggested that not everyone follows social media so it may be worth flagging up on their web pages as well.
