Is there any way to speak to a human being at Microsoft?

Has anyone had success in getting through - either on a phone or the online help or by any other way to get to a person rather than an automated "service"?

I have spent all afternoon trying to break out of various loops to correct security/log in problems with Hotmail. They have a spurious e-mail address as security and I can not get out of a closed loop.

No idea re speaking to a person.  Do you have a recovery email address that you have previously registered with MS that you can make use of?

It's a spurious address. They have my mobile number but are not offering to send a code there.

I phoned Sky and explained that I wanted to leave. Their reply was just one moment Sir, I will put you through to the retentions team. It made my day :)

I've spoken to them several times, you just have to find the number, I think I googled for Microsoft support UK phone number. Sorry, didn't save the number anywhere.

The people I spoke to were based in the Philippines, very polite, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful on each occasion.

Thank you Mike.

I found a number but following the instructions/option list lead merely to a recorded message.

OK, why not try different options that are not relevant to your problem, then if you can get through to someone take it from there.

Do you think it has to be Microsoft that fixes it?

If  not, I may be able to help, though not personally of course, If I went anywhere near it it would be well and truly screwed up.
