interesting the manual gearbox Skoda isnt approved...?
Yes strange. Certainly true of the 150 bhp diesel Kodiaq but not sure about other engine options. I would have thought the manual gearbox may have been better than the DSG for towing. Local towing centre were telling me this info as they had one or two disappointed people turn up at their premises. One chap brought in his new company car (BMW diesel) an identical model to his last one only to find that the later one now has an adblu tank where the tow bar needs to be fitted.

I'm sure the BMW will be a fine tow car, I've towed by Caterham on a Brian James Club 750 with a Pug 406 diesel estate and currently a Honda Accord diesel estate. Never had any issues towing, I'd certainly recommend a two wheel Minno trailer if you can get one second hand.
FWIW I'd prefer towing with a FWD or 4x4 car but I know a lot of people who are quite happy with RWD tow cars.
I'm looking at a Skoda Superb or Octavia to replace the Honda at some point in the future, there is a nice 242bhp petrol Octavia VRS that looks quite fun.
There's a lot of info here
Has this ever been covered in Low Flying?
The Superb 280 4WD DSG looks interesting - Golf R running gear in a family saloon!
I'm not sure if we are going to buy new or used at this point. Our local dealer is offering 7K off list for a new 330i or 10K off list for a new M340i. Off at a tangent, one of the senior sales guys at the dealership claims he used to run Caterham Midlands..... his words not mine.
Lots of you are using shuttles then, nobody trusting an open trailer in this day and age? I had intended on an open trailer, keeping the weight and purchase cost down.
I have an open trailer....

Fountain C100, light extremley well made and tows like a dream, also have one of these just in case though I'm not convinced that it would not mark on the front edge wind turbulance causing sling movement even though it has soft wise foam under there.
The Motorsprt version suits cars with roll bar rather than an SLR cage.
Hi mark we bought our seven from caterham midlands poss just before they closed the salesman was bloke called Doug , very good bloke , did speak to the manager then but could not remember his name ?
Can't remember the bloke's surname, Tru is convinced his first name was Dean.
