Has anyone come across this outfit before? It could be an efficient and different savings vehicle for that long term upgrade come the moment.

Not tried investing in whiskey or whisky personally, but this is an interesting article

Thanks for the link tbird, it is definitely food for thought and with all of these type of investments it is a bit like betting on a horse. Who would have bet on Japanese whisky ten years ago? Like the article says you can always drown your sorrows.

This is interesting too, not a massive sample but pretty well rated.

As you say an interesting punt that you can at least drink if all goes pear shaped , this could be a fun punt, and a bit of future history,  First  legal Distillery on Raasay , works out between £20 and £33 per bottle depending on cask size,  decent price for drinking if nothing else  but might increase if you keep it a while https://raasaydistillery.com/first-legal-distillery-raasay/   (no link other than spending time on Skye,)  there is also this one , don't know if they are pre selling Casks or not, https://www.torabhaig.com/home  don't think either have a single Malt for sale yet but they are on the way
