Controversial,,,but it’s me so he ho

Just read the last,,mag ,,now I for one have posted plenty of posts about C C , ,especially about there none show at donnington,,,

but it's a new year after a crap time  in our  lives ,, we have lost a lot of our friends and seven members,,we have a new MT team in place ,, so how about ,,as they say buriing the hatches ( yes I cannot bloody spell ) but think you no what I mean ,,,so how about the club and caterham,, getting together and sorting out all the problems ,,it's bloody stupid that a manufacturer, and club are not as one ,,,to promote a great car ,,( not a bloody Morgan ) ,,so come on pull your fingers out get it sorted ,,,it's got to be best for C C and the club

or am I speaking a load of crap as  usual, ,,,I don't think so ,please give your thoughts ,,cos that is what counts ,,if enough put there point then ,,some thing must happen

PS ,,, sorry new MT team ,,but as they say ,,,get together kick the shit out of each other ,,bit of give and take ,,,move forward

derek

Derek, have you not noticed in Lowflying that there's a webinar event with Caterham Cars next month?

Or wondered how Michael Calvert had so much information and photographs for Lowflying of the Grand Tour off-roader?

Or a few months ago the interview with Graham Macdonald?

Or the very early press release information that we had about the new Super Seven 1600 models?

Yes we're working hard at getting back to normal!

Derek,

I recall reading somewhere that one of the reasons attributed by Aston Martin to its rise in popularity starting I think, with the DB4, was the active involvement of AMOC in identifying all the little niggles and improvements in their cars.

It's great to hear that bridges are being rebuilt with CCs, it has been noticed and thanks to the new team for working to get things back on track (excuse the pun!)

Derek, I told you the rift could be healed.

Yes  stephen,,it is how it should be ,,our lot can show the Morgan brigade how to run a club ,,should have said appolagies  to CC as well ,,wonder when a may special will be available to order ,,,bet they would sell a few ,,,a great advertisement for the seven ,,,think it would have looked better if had been SV ,,,but I'm biased

if Morgan owners club ever come here I'm out for day

I'm glad you mentioned Morgan Derek, their club has been happily working with the factory  forever, no falling out with them.  I have to admit that the club magazine, Miscellany, is pretty dire though, but improving slowly, I don't think it will ever be as good as ours though.  Well done Michael for keeping the standards up.

I suspect the link between us "L7C" and CC, would be stronger if we adopted their name, ie became Caterham 7 Club.
This is based on a conversation I had with David Ridley last September at Snetterton.
Personally, I'd like to think that the rift that is referred to can be mended without changing the club name.

My L7C membership only started in 2019, hence I'll acknowledge I wasn't really aware of the rough patch the club was in and went through.

But clearly the new MT are making super positive steps, including the multiple "colab" (believe that's what the kids call it) with CC.

Well done MT and thank you!

Completely agree with this.

I think the prominence of the Lotus name in the club title is a bit strange. Yes, there is heritage there, although that is now a long time back. Effectively we all drive Caterham's and its Caterham, not Lotus, who have developed the cars to where they are now. I think it should be referenced somewhere and I would have thought that on its own would help rebuild a relationship with Caterham.

Like others, I only joined the club in 2019 when I bought the car so wasn't aware of the rift or otherwise. Why not make it the Caterham 7 club, the reference to 7 is the heritage bit and Caterham actually represents what nearly all the cars are!
