Still not sure whether the Germans found humour this 1st of April, will have to see if it appears on the configurator: https://www.porsche.com/stories/innovation/porsche-unveils-patina-paint
This may not be a joke. The "Rat look" is all the rage in the VW fraternity. I guess it stems from the old buses that are around.
We have a newish VW Caddy in our area which looks as though it's been sanded down to bare metal, with some paint remaining in patches, then left out in the rain for a few weeks. A couple of coats of lacquer and "Voila"
Deffo April Fools joke.
Like VW rebranding in the USA as Voltswagen. (except that one "leaked" early.)
This one is near me, it's a vinyl wrap rather than paint
So do they kerb them wheels as well?
For me a relic'd Telecaster works, a patina'd Porsche doesn't. But everyone to their own though.

or just by a BMW with matt paint.....
It is a thing in drag racing and hot rod culture. Even the Duke of Richmond and Gordon (gawd bless 'im ) has an exquisite little rat rod.
BMW takes the prize for the best car based April Fool, by announcing that from next year they would be manufacturing their cars without indicators, as their owners never use them. :)
