Wtd: Caterham 7 Badge

Gary,

What perfect timing.

I have been in the loft today sorting through my surplus C7 stuff which I will shortly be advertising. In one of the boxes was the badge you are looking for. It had been in the loft for the last eight/nine years and, unsurprisingly (lol), dates from 1997. You are very welcome to have it.

As these badges appear to be no longer available, Andrew's suggestion of 3D printing would seem to be good idea (although I don't know how one would successfully do the green & yellow paint or the chrome edging). I searched for 3D printing services locally without success, perhaps there are some in your area Gary?

Hi Gary,

Yes, it is the original badge (which I removed 8/9 years ago and put somewhere safe where it remained until I found it today).

It would be great if you are able to have other badges 3D printed from it before re-affixing to the HPC.

I have your address and will post it early next week.

David

If it helps

I've got a source for the 3D Printing, albeit a CAD model would need to be created from the original part.
The CAD modelling could be created by someone with a Scanner, if not I could help with modelling the part by taking dimensions from the original.

Hi Gary,

looks like you already have this sorted, but I have a good condition one of these that I'm about to remove from my car this weekend.
Let me see if I can attach an image...

(I remember it being not a simple process on the forum)

I could make use of a 3D scanning contact, which seems like a wise idea, as you say given that these badges are no longer available.

Chris

Yes, you can. On Android you need to select "Desktop Site" and the Upload button is second from the right (or more likely in the bottom row of the three).

From my handset a random WhatsApp image:-
