Molecular--Bob Posted April 1, 2021 Share Posted April 1, 2021 I did the initial bit of a rebuild with the car on bandstands, I got it down with an engine crane at each end. I put the engine and gearbox in once it was on the ground. If you want it mobile you could use fence posts to link the bandstands and attach decent casters. Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted April 2, 2021 Leadership Team Share Posted April 2, 2021 Steve, when I refreshed my car a few years ago I bit the bullet and invested in a pair of mobile axle stands - I wish I'd bought them sooner! Obviously a bit more of an investment than normal stands but they're already getting some serious use, currently the Mini I'm working on is supported at a nice working height.
