Wrightpayne
I have a set of these and they are great. Small self contained box of electronics, programming buttons and LEDs and three wires to connect. Still available new from Digital Race Electronics.I never understood why the caterham offering had a similar box for the dash LEDs and a big control module under the dash on the bulkhead? CharlieC
Hi, I've just spotted this thread whilst seeking advice on fitting a recently purchased Caterham set of shift lights ... and now think that I may have bought the wrong thing. Is the DRE set easy to fit (for an inexperienced mechanic/electrician)?
Wrightpayne
Three connections onto tacho +ve, -ve and trigger.I made up some tails so I didnt have to splice into the car loom.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted January 19, 2020 Member Share Posted January 19, 2020 I made up some tails so I didnt have to splice into the car loom. This is a very clever trick. You can do nearly all of the wiring on the bench and you can easily remove the gizmo.Jonathan
StevehS3
My 2012 car had a spare tacho wire ready for the shift lights.
Benton
My 2018 420 had the necessary 3 connectors coming out from the main loom lurking behind the main/dip switch. Just the case of attaching spade terminals on the DRE unit. Wires can be fed through the opening for the heated screen wire having loosened the windscreen.
