Wanted-drilled (11mm?) alloy block to clamp damper piston rod

To clamp the damper piston rod so that the top eyelet can be removed. Anyone made one and wishes to sell? Also interested in buying spring compressors (front or rear) too.

Just getting every thing ready to fit adjustable platforms, which I must say is a job I am not particularly looking forward to!

Hi Tazio, apparently (according to BC threads) there is Loctite on the thread that needs to be broken the first time it is removed and the thread will strip first. Also, narrow track doesn’t have a long nut to get a spanner on. I’ve never done it before so just going on what I’ve read.

On all the bilsteins I have removed both narrow track and widetrack there has been a locknut under the washer that sits inside the top spring retainer. In widetrack cars, there is the widetrack extension nut above the washer, if that makes sense.

I took some brand new shocks back to the Bilstein factory to get some additional platform circlip grooves machined. They did the job while I waited ... and watched. They did indeed clamp the rod between aluminium jaws in a very big vice and even after removing the locknut it took heat, a long bar and a big bloke to get the ends unscrewed. The thread lock they use is strong stuff.
