TANGO7
Does anyone have one of the above spare? (The long bolt which passes through the centre of the spare wheel and secures it to the rear of the car va the threaded boss in the rear panel).Perhaps someone who does not carry a spare wheel and has removed the spare wheel cradle may have one. SM25T
Believe there are different versions for different wheels. Mine (for 15" anthracites) has a y-shape adaptor that fits through 2 holes in wheels. There is a sleeve and a long bolt with a hex head. Others I have seen have a t-bolt with a round disc that fits in hole in wheel centre.
TANGO7
Yes, I think there are 2 versions.. One with the v shaped adaptor spaces the spare off the rear bodywork so access can be gained to release the poppers holding the boot cover in place, without removing the spare wheel. The other type means the wheel is flush against the rear bodywork. I’m ideally looking for the type with the spacer, but the other would be ok. Wrightpayne
Perhaps 3 versions - mine has the Y piece / spacer with a T bolt. Maybe the hex bolt was introduced to hinder portability! Some have a nut welded inside the boot and others have a stainless threaded boss that bolts through the ally skin, spacer washers and chassis plate. SM25T
I didn't like the flexibility of the stainless Boss so fitted a big square stainless plate on the outside trapped under it. Also restrain the tyre down to the carrier with luggage strap and fat pipe insulation on the carrier tubes ... stops it bouncing around. At the Dunsfold Handling Day last year, one car had the spare wheel fly off violently at the u-turn at the end of the slalom course !!
