Andrew Willcox
Does anyone have a spare oil pressure sensor for a K series available?Looking at options to replace with a mechanical gauge but would like to confirm the problem is the sensor before going too far.Advise or recommendations on a mechanical gauge also welcome! JonL
just replaced my failed electric sensor with a mechanical on my k-series. I am not a spanner, but it was pretty straight forward. I bought all the bits from ThinkAuto (thinkauto.com).Gauge: OPG100 Hose: GL7 Connector: MMS5-3-45£71 all in.The hardest thing was pushing the hose/pipe through the gromet in front of the gear stick and I had to rope in the small hands of my 10yr old son. SM25T
Caerbont electric senders are notoriously unreliable in this application. Go mechanical ...you won't regret it.

7 wonders of the world
no one seems to mind having a good few litres of near boiling water above your thighs though......and having had a matrix go in a tintop I can tell you thats far more of a problem.... Bricol
Had a nylon pipe to an oil pressure gauge on a previous seven style car - driving home after work and my leg started to get hot and wet . . .Caterham has a braided hose connection . . . wiltsathome
Replace with mechanical Id say. Over three years and 24k miles, sender failures were only beaten In running costs by fuel and tyres. I have lost count as to how many I had to replace, maybe my car had some freaky harmonics, but I even mounted them remotely on rubber damped mountings and still had issues. If I had kept the car I'd have gone mechanical, and with many tears of use in my Elan, Escort Twin Cam and several race cars have never had a feed pipe failure. If you are nervous go OTT and use braided hose
