Renault Twizy - Anyone Any Experience of them?

My daughter lives in Central London, and is thinking of getting one for use around Town.

She also cycles and has an eScooter, but occasionally needs a small car.

She has a garage with charging, so that's not an issue, and access to a normal (*wink*) car for any longer trips.

Twizy looks quite cool and doubtless been improved since first launched. Any experience?

I'll ask the former Head of EV for Renault UK. He is at a funeral in France at the mo, so it will take a few days.

(They do make good camera tracking platforms.)

But for occasional use isn't hiring or a car club a better & more flexible option?

Thanks.

For her use it would need to be available 24/7

They aren’t too bad for what they are. Probably want the doors which they don’t all have. Better than a push bike but wouldn’t want to go far in one

I think they are far closer to where future electric city cars should be heading than the current Tesla size offerings.

Mike, I have some recollection of a lease agreement for the batteries apart from the car, I may be wrong but worth asking about if looking at second hand.

Yes. From my research, it was originally launched in 2012 and you bought the car and leased the battery.
Not a bad thing in many respects, as you get a continuous warranty and presumably you can upgrade as technology improves.

The latest versions can be bought with the battery included.

Apparently, it's not a car or a bike, it's a Quadracycle - bit more info here

The French do like their micro cars, the Citroen Ami might appear here at some point and that even has windows.

At least it is prettier than its namesake -

I like the looks of the original Ami, though I would prefer a Mehari.
