2010 1.6 K-series Immobiliser fob not working

I've tried a quick search on here but didn't find anything that seemed to directly answer my question so I hope you don't mind me trying your patience with what must be a common question...

I have two ignition keys, each with an immobiliser fob (black, lozenge shaped with a lock and unlock button on the front). The fob I use most often has now stopped working but luckily the other does still work.

Is a fob battery change a simple process or does it involve re-programming keys etc?

Grateful for any advice.

Malcolm

Very easy, just swap the battery no programming required.  From memory I believe it's a CR2032.  Very common button cell available anywhere.  Worth keeping a couple of spares.

You may find you need to press the button on the key a few times to get it to synchronise before it starts working but that's all.

Yes CR3032. Straight swap and then press unlock around half a dozen times until red LED goes out.
