3D Printing Centre Caps for 14" Minilite

I ordered a new set of 14" Minilites but didn't like the push through centre caps that came with them.  They push through by just over 40mm and didn't look right.  Having wanted to try some 3D printing for a while I have built a crude (24 segment) centre cap in sketch up and sent it for printing as a trial.  If it seems like it may be the answer I'll smooth it up in Blender and get it printed to a higher resolution.

Has anyone printed centre caps before?

I notice the Caterham offering doesn't have quite enough clearance to stop the end of the front stub axle rubbing on the back of the cap, also the plastic they use is just a bit too brittle so often the attachment prongs break off rather too easily so a design with 5, 6, 7 or even 8 tabs would stop the car trying to self-lighten by shedding caps on a regular basis.

I am waiting on delivery of a test one. I will post pictures and comments and get another printed. As a one off printed item the cost was £11. This would be cheaper for a bulk order. Different sizes and designs are easy but i will see how well this one works before doing anything else.
