Grant Dryburgh Posted May 25, 2020 Share Posted May 25, 2020 Hi, just wondering if there is anyone good with electronics that could maybe help me out and be able to make up a little circuit board for me Basically I've fitted 620R style switches and dash LEDs but I've found the blue LEDs to be insanely bright when they are on, I think driving at night would be nearly impossible with the glare off them. I've played around with some 0.5W resistors and found a combination that dims them to a nice level, so rather than soldering a load of resistors into the loom I was looking to make a little board with the Side light supply in and 12 outputs to the LEDs with the required resistors on the board before each output.Anyone able to help or point me in the direction of someone that could make this up ? Grant Dryburgh Posted May 25, 2020 Author Share Posted May 25, 2020 I thought about a dimmer at first but the Blue LEDs need to be dimmed far more than the yellow/red/green. I tried 560 ohm resistors on red/yellow/green which seemed fine but for the blue LEDs I ended up at 47K ohm to get them down to a reasonable brightness. bjw Posted May 26, 2020 Share Posted May 26, 2020 Modifications to my dash illumination included fitting resistors in line with conventional bulbs (together with some other components). I used separate boards for each bulb (small pieces of Veroboard with connectors on each) , but they're all simply covered in heatshrink and cable tied to the wiring at the switch.With just series resistors you don't really need any board(s) at all.
