Carbon Bow Protectors

Has anyone fitted these?

I have just purchased a set from Caterham.  Before I start drilling the rivets out, fitting and drilling the carbon before re-riveting, it looks as though you need to notch out the carbon for the door press stud.

Is this the case as that's a seriously crap design, or can anyone advise if it misses them?

Thanks in advance.

Joe

I have a pair to fit, lots of drilling and riveting surely the door poppers are just drilled as selftappers?

No idea! That's why I thought I'd ask before starting. I might have a better look at it tomorrow. All those rivets Vomit

If you have the door armrests fitted you don't actually need the door retaining strap which is the item that does most damage to the ally skin at that point. I ditched the straps on mine around 10 years ago and no issues, the armrests anchor the door shut fine on their own. Without the strap you can lose the popper and just fit a standard rivet.

CC recently advised me to cut out around the the outside hood popper with a Dremel rather than remove the popper and re-fit with the self tapper; which tends to crack the carbon fibre.

That's what I thought someone would say! Madness, £188 only to finish the product yourself!

Any chance you could photograph your install, I've been interested in a set but would like to see how challenging the install is.  Thanks

Re #7, just over £200 from what I can see.

And they're sold in singles?

A bit of helicopter tape would do that job, I think.
