Hanns Per
anyone ever thought about a glove box in the dash? I did and did some search for solutions but found nothing.thks Hanns Per
SM25T
Some (30th ?) anniversary models were fitted with a CD player in the dash. Some have been removed and left the enclosure as a small glove box.
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted April 14, 2019 Area Representative Share Posted April 14, 2019 You need a 21!
Member Jonathan Kay Posted April 14, 2019 Member Share Posted April 14, 2019 Just checked Rees: it was the Autosport 50th Anniversary model, and an Alpine CD player. My first choice would be a drop-down tray or drawer.Jonathan
Hanns Per
No 21 at all but I have all the "space" behind the passengers dash and I thought I could use this for H.M. stuff. Thks Jonathan for the pic I have a swopy dash and I thought of something like this, maybe a little bit smaller
Member Jonathan Kay Posted April 14, 2019 Member Share Posted April 14, 2019 You've got a lot of space there compared to most of us. Do you want a lid and do you have any interest in fitting a satnav as part of the solution?Jonathan
Hanns Per
without a lidno satnav only for H.M. stuff, googles sunglasses lipstick a.m.m. I am still undecided if I should make a lid or not. In the middle now I have a box which goes to the scuttle wall
Member Jonathan Kay Posted April 14, 2019 Member Share Posted April 14, 2019 How about one that matches the Stack display?Jonathan

Member Jonathan Kay Posted April 14, 2019 Member Share Posted April 14, 2019 Doh!Could you get a bust unit and use the frame from that with a custom box on the back? I'd also drop the box behind the frame so that there is a lip to retain stuff.Jonathan
Hanns Per
Here is the sketch this will be the solution but I will make it somewhat smaller to be more in proportion an let it open.
Hanns Per
the box will be behind the dash and be fixed to the scuttle wall, it will be larger than the opening in the dash and it will be have an angle downward to the front so things don't easily fall out when accelerating hard specifically on steep mountain roads out of hairpin turns. Dave_P
Not a great image. I made a glove box from ply wood, covered in leatherette and shoved it in front of the gear stick. Can get gloves, sun glasses and phone in. No cutting or fixing screws just jammed in.

SM25T
To be fair, the floor gets pretty damp touring in a rainstorm.
nickh7
Water proof bag like the one I’ve just bought from the Club. It’s brilliant and totally waterproof. I really don’t get the “glovebox” thing , why ? The SBFS tunnel bag does the job surely?
Wrightpayne
I have 3 of those plastic framed nets - one in each footwell and one on the rear bulkhead. That said I do like the tunnel top cubby hole!Ian
