CWilson184
I am in the middle of switching out the dashboard on the 7 and found that the dash was held in with putty like stuff. Anyone know what it is so I can attach the new dash or any recommendations for alternatives? Thanks!

K7 VCT
Is it possible to change the dash without scuttle removal ?
Blue C7
I have just done this and I had the same question. I asked on here, Caterham and Cassics & Sevens they said same as the wings. I know it wasn't the same adhesive used for the wings and dash that I took off. The adhesive previously used for the wings had set solid but the adhesive for the dash although not sticky to touch when cutting through it with a knife was soft but if it touched together would grab. Anyway I used Tetroson 9220.
Blue C7
Sorry, yes you will have to take the scuttle off.
TomB
No, you need to take it off to cut the silicone or whatever from above the chassis tube it sits. Whilst it might be possible to cut up, from underneath or with a wire saw or similar from the cockpit area, its making it much harder. Removing the scuttle isn't too hard but it usually involves drilling at the rivets out the first time you do it you can fit rivnuts to make future removal easier. Its allows access to the wiring from above rather than hanging upside down under the dash!
CWilson184
Does Tetroson 9220 stay soft (like the adhesive currently used) or will it go hard like silicone?
Blue C7
The tetroson goes off hard
