finmac
Late last season my CSR developed an oil leak when it was parked up - bottom of the engine/sump area near the front. Tightened up the bolts at front and seemed to sort it. Now however it seems to be leaking at the rear of the sump.Wondered if this is a common issue and do I need to remove sump and replace gasket or what? 7 wonders of the world
There's no gasket on the duratec sump and front timing cover etc are sealed with careful application of RTV, its entirely possible that during build the RTV wasn't applied absolutely in the correct place. If you blatmail me your email address I can drop you a copy of the Ford manual, pretty long but you can search out the engine you have and it shows in details where the RTV should be placed.
