Titanium7
2.3l Cosworth Duratec - I have a slight misfire when cold as if one cylinder is not firing properly. Once the revs are up or the engine is warm it's all fine. Any suggestions other than change the plugs which I've already done.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 24, 2017 Member Share Posted June 24, 2017 Did the old plugs all look OK and the same?Any moisture around them or rust on the outside??Jonathan
Titanium7
Plugs all good Jonathan all similar in appearance and no rust. I'm thinking along the lines of either electrical continuity with the coil circuit or possible injector issue or electrical signal to the injector. John Vine
Are you able to tell which cylinder is misfiring? Or does it appear to be random?JV
Member Jonathan Kay Posted July 4, 2017 Member Share Posted July 4, 2017 And can you get it into the failure state for long enough to test it?... either electrical continuity with the coil circuit or possible injector issue or electrical signal to the injector. You could have a look at all of those electrical connections for corrosion or bad mechanical connection.I don't know how to test the HT side without specialist kit.Can you get the injectors out to see if they are squirting equally? Usual precautions.Jonathan
